When I Was Just A Little Girl...

My mother had a thing for keeping me in pigtails.

I thought it would be fun to get together with some of the bloggers that I love and show you what we looked like when we were younger.

Lucky for me,  I had some of my childhood pictures here that were used for my wedding video from a few years back.

I was born and raised in Chicago, I grew up during the 80's, and, I must say, I had an awesome childhood; we had the best cartoons and toys!

Those cursed pigtails again!

I was in no way, shape, or form shy growing up; I was very talkative and sociable. I would love performing for whomever I could get to watch. Singing duet with my sister (who is fifteen months older) to Grease or Little Shop of Horrors, and the highlight of the evenings performance was me recreating the dancing sequence to Michael Jackson's Thriller...Not much has changed :P

A makeup virtuoso.

As far back as I can remember, I've always been into makeup. And, as with most girls, my introduction into the world of beauty was my mother. I remember watching in awe, as my mom would get ready for evenings out with my dad, or other events. I would emulate what I saw in my coloring books by shading in eye shadow, blush and lipstick on all the characters. Wanting another form of media, I moved onto my dolls. Using my markers, I would alter eyebrows, change the color of the lids and lips, and for blush, I'd smudge whatever color I used with my index finger. Finally, I made a kamikaze drive into my mother's vanity. Needless to say, there were many casualties amongst her Estee Lauder lipsticks and palettes.

My kindergarten graduation.

I believe this was taken at my friend Eddie's Apartment.

With rosaries in hand, the photo above is me at 17, getting ready to paint the town black at the Kitchen club. A Gothic night club that was located at the Coconut grove, but has since hopped around to several different locations. Here's a fun fact: I used to design and make my Gothic dresses. At the high school I went to, there were only 5 of us into Gothic, Industrial, and Punk Rock music. To this day, I have a soft spot for messy, smoked-out eye shadow, dark lips and the smell of clove cigarettes (btw, I don't smoke).

Why did this picture upload all blurred...anyway, here's a picture of my sister and I, when she came to visit me three years ago.

Please check out the ever-so-amazing Mrs.BellyHead's post here. Mrs.Belly is one of my blogger crushes, and everyone should subscribe to her! Lipstick Boulevards I'm waiting for your link, and hopefully Ms. Drivel will join in :)

This post is open to anyone who wants to do it. If you do, and you please post the link in the comments :)

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.
