Favourites: September 2016

First of all I would just like to say sorry for being really vacant on the blog the past month, but my job has just simply required of me to be there and not here. As much as I love blogging, it's a luxury and the first thing that needs to go if I am pressed on time. Besides that, I've also travelled this month, which also didn't help in terms of having extra time. I went to Cannes for 5 days and it was absolutely fantastic! Long-time readers will know I go there quite frequently, and also used to live in Nice, so it's a place I know well. For my favourites this month I'll be sharing some absolute workhorses. The makeup especially, I've pretty much done the same look everyday all month, and I'm still not sick of it! Some of those products are featured this month, a long with just one skincare item and a perfume.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in 'Pearl' ( here )
It took me until now to get on this bandwagon, and boy do I get why these are so hyped! I've already loved Beccas Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl in liquid form, and have even re-purchased it. I would've bought this one sooner, had Becca been a bit more easily available to buy. Anyway, the product is absolutely fantastic! If you love the effect the liquid pearl has, this is really similar. While it's a powder form, it doesn't look powdery at all on the skin and really just melts into the skin. This just might be my new all-time favourite highlighter, ever, no joke.

Burberry Light Glow Blush in 'Tangerine' ( here )
As I'm continuing loving the warm-toned makeup, this brush is the perfect shade to compliment an overall warm toned look. It's a bit of a weird shade to describe - it's a warm brownish peachy red, that isn't too dark. It adds the most natural warm flush to the cheeks, and it blends out perfectly, with very little effort, practically none. I just dab this on my cheeks and blend for about a split second, and I am good to go.

Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne ( here )
Before I say anything about this, let me just tell you what all the notes are; Sea Salt, Grapefruit, Sage, Ambrette and Seaweed. Obviously, this is quite an unusual type of fragrance. The scent you get isn't that far off the spectrum, but it's definitely full of notes I don't usually see, and I've researched a lot of fragrances. Either way, Wood Sage & Sea Salt is a beautiful "clean" type of scent. I love wearing it when I don't feel like wearing something too "in your face", and would just like to smell fresh, clean and kind of like a day in autumn, after it's rained. A rather odd description, I'm sure, but if you give it a whiff, you'll know exactly what I mean.

La Prairie Cellular Power Charge Night ( here )
I've used several samples of this over the years and always really enjoyed it. While I don't feel I need this good of a retinol at my age yet, I decided to treat myself to it after all and have really enjoyed using this the past month. It's a really effective retinol, that keeps my skin in really good condition. It helps with texture, keeping skin blemish-free, helps balance my skin and I find my skin absorbs and retains moisture better. All that without any irritation, dryness or peeling. A wonderful product.

Nars Duo Eyeshadow in Portobello ( here )
As you can tell I've used this a lot! Mostly the shadow on the right, in fact almost exclusively. The shadow on the left I find applies a bit patchy and is difficult to work with, but the right one, well, I've hit pan, that should say it all. This is a brown eyeshadow, which isn't all that exciting, but for everyday office-wear, brown eyeshadow is my go-to. This one is amazing in both quality - blends and builds perfectly in just a second, and in color - the shade isn't too light to make a difference, but not too dark or bold, it's also got a beautiful warm undertone to it. It's the perfect everyday crease shade, and I really wish it was sold as a single. If anyone know of a dupe in a single let me know please!
