When my time at university ended over 2 years ago i went straight into work, admittedly i started out in retail however i have continuously worked ever since. When i received my first paycheck from my first job my mother said that i should always use my first paycheck to buy myself a treat which will remind me of that job. If you have been reading my blog for a long time you might remember that the first thing i treated myself to was my first Ted Baker bag. I recently left retail and went into office work which has been quite a change but my first paycheck came through last month therefore i could get my treat item. Previously i have bought bags and i've bought shoes so this time i wanted to get some jewellery. I don't wear a massive amount of jewellery on a day-to-day basis so i wanted to add something that i could wear daily. I've always had my eye on the Cartier Love Necklaces however at over £3000 i definitely don't get paid that much.
I thought a good alternative was the Pandora 'Hearts of Pandora' Necklace which is the necklace i ultimately went for. I kept seeing this necklace on Fashion Mumblr who is currently one of my favourite youtubers and i decided i wanted it. Originally i had the silver version in mind as most of my jewellery is silver. However when i was in store i tried on both the silver and rose gold and ultimately i preferred the rose gold with my colouring.
I absolutely love it and i have worn it everyday since i bought it but i do have one slight problem with Pandora. The silver necklace would have cost £89 however the rose gold was £125 which is quite a big increase and i want to know why! In my opinion it is more expensive as rose gold is currently having a moment and it means that they can make a high profit but i have no proof of this.
I completely love this necklace and i highly recommend that when you get your first paycheck from your job that you buy yourself something that you can keep and whether or not you liked that job you will always have something to remember it by.
