The Oracle in Reading is basically the centre of all of the shopping so when i knew i was going shopping i googled to see what stores they had which might be different to the ones in Bristol. It didn't start off well as they were all the same as Bristol shopping but then i got down to the stores beginning with K and they have a Kiko which i was very excited about as i bought some of their products when i was on holiday in Sicily last year but i haven't seen it since. However that was the only store which was different. The Oracle is owned by the same people as Cabot Circus in Bristol so there were similarities between the two shopping centres.
When i arrived my first misson was to find the Kiko store which luckily turned out to be quite easy. I didn't know where to start so i spent a good hour picking out items that i wanted as i didn't want to go over board on the spending. I ended up getting 4 items and none of them were the same type of product as i didn't want to waste money getting things i didn't really need. I started off by picking up the Crystal Eyeliner in 03, which is a long lasting eyeliner with a metallic finish. I have been using this a lot and i love it, it is a metallic bronze shade which complements my eye colour. I prefer it to MAC Teddy just because it has a richer brown tone and also it twists up at the bottom instead of needing sharpening all the time. I paid £6.90 for it but i have been online and it is currently £3.40 which is annoying but very cheap for an amazing eyeliner.
The next product is one of the Kiss Balms in 02 Apricot, i bought one of the kiss balms in Sicily last year and i loved it so i thought i would get another but this time in a more peachy shade as that is what i have been loving at the moment. They are hydrating balms which add a little tint of colour and they have SPF 15 in them. To me they are similar to the Benefit Balms just with a better pigmentation and a cheaper price, this was £5.90 which is almost a third of the Benefit ones.
As you know i love doing my nails when i am not working and when i saw this concept i thought i had to give it a go. It is called a Perfect Gel Duo set. The idea is that it is a nail lacquer with a top coat that gives the effect of gel nails without having to get them done with a heat lamp. The concept drew me in and i picked it up in the shade 677 Milk Mint. I have used it and it does give an extra glossy effect to the nails and it is last slightly longer lasting than any other nail varnish but i wasn't amazed by it. The colour is beautiful though and great for the summer. At £7.90 for two nail polishes it isn't a bad price.
The final product was one i had to think about quite hard as it isn't the most practical product or the cheapest. At £14.90 for a blush i wasn't sure but now i am really happy i bought it and its the Tri-Bal Soul Baked Blush in 03 Wild Mauve. Firstly lets talk about the packaging it has the most decorative packaging i've ever seen in a blush, it is contained in an ornate wooden box with quite a big mirror inside. It is definitely a dressing table blush rather than one you can carry around in your make up bag. However the blush is beautiful i have been using it everyday since i bought it. It has a very bright pink pigment but lightly dusting on the cheeks it gives a naturally flushed look with a radiant shimmer hidden within it. I saw Zoella talk about it in one of her favourites video which intrigued me but this blush is lovely and if you have the chance of getting it, it is my favourite product out of all the ones i bought in Kiko.
After Kiko i had some errands to run, presents for the family, that sort of thing and then i happened across a MAC Counter. This is the first MAC i have ever been to and it was very quiet to the point that a staff member could actually help you if you know what you want so i thought i would just check to see if they had Velvet Teddy which i have been coveting for ages but every counter i had been to was out of stock. They had just had delivery in and Velvet Teddy was part of it so i obviously bought it there and then with a MAC brush cleaner because i had just run out so i came away very satisfied from that MAC and i even got a free sample of their False Lash Mascara which i haven't tried yet cause i am going to save it until i go away.
I didn't actually get anything else for myself whilst i was in Reading but i came away feeling very happy with my purchases. I have used all of the products since so i have tried to include a little review in this post as well as a haul so tell me what you think of this style of post; did you like it or was it too long? A lot of people talk about Kiko products and for the price that they are, they are totally worth the money. Their stores only tend to be around London so if you are in the area i would have a look in one.
